Nach der Absage am Vortag konnte ich mit voller Energie bei der ersten Austragung der Montasio Trophy in Sella Nevea an den Start gehen.
Wie schon des Öfteren wurde mir die Startnummer 1 zuerkannt. Leider fand sich diese Zahl am Ende des Tages nicht auf der Ergebnisliste wieder.
Nach einem ca. 20 Kilometer Cross Country Kurs mit sehr steilen Anstiegen, wo man auch manchmal vom Rad musste, ging es anschließend die letzten 6 Kilometer zur Montasio Alm. Dort wird der berühmte Montasio Käse hergestellt. Auch am 14. Mai 2013 ist dort oben das Etappenziel des Giro d´Italia.
